A regular visitor to New Zealand, and described as a one-man folk festival, Pete was a popular guest at the club a couple of years ago and we're very pleased to welcome him back.
He is a fine musician and singer, and well-known as a solo performer at clubs and festivals around the UK and abroad. Dance caller and leader of the folk-rock Aardvark Ceilidh Band, Pete collects many tunes and dances during his travels. He also plays for and dances with Coventry Morris.
Pete is leading the Grasshoppers ceilidh band as well. He sings, calls and plays guitar and melodeons. The band is now called Starley Road.
Pete has been singing since he was four. After leaving school, he started a folk group (folk because they would not need to buy amplifiers!). The melodeon took over from the guitar as his main instrument when he started Morris dancing.
He has wide experience of playing and teaching the instrument, and left his factory job to repair and deal in musical instruments about 30 years ago. Pete has become a well known visitor to Germany, Sweden and New Zealand.
